We are excited to welcome the Enginuity team and in particular Alastair ‘Alf’ Trower to our our Experts in Residence team.
Alastair ‘Alf’ Trower is the Director of Business Development at Enginuity, with over 25 years of international sales and marketing experience. Starting off in the business software applications market, Alf launched new products and drove innovation in new sectors and geographies, internationally. Moving into oil and gas engineering in 2008, he consistently achieved 25% annual growth in a down market, while opening new markets, forging International alliances and driving industry innovation. Throughout his career, Alastair has built a multi-sector skill set of technical sales, product marketing and business management.
In 2013, Alf had the fortune to meet Ben Garvey, owner of the local engineering firm Enginuity, hitting it off and possessing skills needed by the business to start an aggressive growth period. Focused on solving complex engineering problems for the industrial sector in the Maritimes, designing new products for entrepreneurs and commercialising their own ideas. Including a marine connectors business, Snap Innovations, and a medical device start-up, FIVAMed Inc. in Halifax.
Alf and the Enginuity team are proud to be Emera ideaHUB partners and engineers in residence. Through this partnership, Enginuity provides pro-bono design and engineering consulting support to ideaHUB companies to solve engineering challenges, offer strategic advice, and connect with other network partners.
